Garuda Panchami is dedicated to Lord Garuda, the Vahana of Lord Vishnu on the fifth day (Panchami) of the bright half of the lunar month of Shravana. 
Lord Garuda is revered for his immense strength, loyalty, and devotion to Lord Vishnu. Garuda is also seen as a symbol of freedom, representing the power to overcome obstacles and evil forces; prayers are offered to Lord Garuda to seek his blessings for protection and well-being also celebrated remembering the difficulties a son undergoes for the well-being of his mother and also is celebrated to commemorate the victory of Lord Garuda over the Devas to obtain Amrutha.
